H. L. Abusali is a distinguished educationist with over four decades of dedicated service to Sri Lanka’s academic community. Since beginning his teaching career in 1977, he has made a lasting impact through both classroom excellence and visionary institutional leadership.

Over a 40-year career spanning nearly 16 schools across the island, he held key leadership roles including Subject Director (Mathematics), Deputy Principal, and Principal. His work has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to academic standards, disciplined administration, and student-centered growth.

Beyond his formal service, Mr. Abusali has been actively engaged in tuition education since 1976, specializing in G.C.E. Ordinary Level Mathematics and Grade 5 Scholarship Examination preparation. Through decades of guidance, he has mentored thousands of students toward outstanding academic achievement.

In 1998, he founded Darana, a specialized Scholarship examination publication series created to strengthen foundational learning at the primary level. For more than 30 years, Dharana materials have been carefully developed in collaboration with experienced educators and continuously refined to meet evolving examination standards.

Today, Darana remains a trusted academic partner for teachers, students, and parents across Sri Lanka — a testament to Mr. Abusali’s enduring vision, integrity, and lifelong dedication to educational excellence.
